Such a great turn-out at the choir parent/guardian information meeting last night!
Thank you so much to the family members of our choir students who were there. It was so nice to see new and returning faces and to talk with you about some of the most important aspects of our program. The choir room was not only packed full, but standing room only! As a music teacher in a California public school, having so many enthusiastic parents and guardians attend a meeting of this nature was exciting. Many people volunteered to help by signing up on our poster-sized sheets in the back of the room and the energy in the room was so positive and supportive.
Thank you for giving up your evening to be there, parents and guardians.. here's to a great school year ahead!
I'm looking forward to meeting all the new students in Choir! This is going to be an exciting year; we've got some incredible activities planned:
Mrs. Amendola and I are here to help you learn to sing or improve on your great voices, but we're also here to encourage you to compose, perform, read music, or plink on the piano.
We invite all of your families to our Parent/Guardian Orientation Meeting on Thursday, September 6th at 7pm in the Choir room. We also invite you to attend our "Pasta to Paradise" Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, September 8th at 6:30pm to help defray costs for our Spring Trip to Hawai'i. Our students will be selling tickets for this event in the coming weeks. Ask any singer for information. Tickets are $20 for adults, and $10 for students and seniors.
Can't wait to see you all!
It's been a long two weeks of auditions for Hairspray. I'm so proud of the courage so many of you showed in your auditions and amazed by the talent we have in our entire cast. It was so hard to make a decision, but this is going to be one of our best shows, ever. We are all so lucky to get to work together. We continue next week to finish learning the chorus parts before Winter Break, and move to the District Auditorium for full rehearsals when we come back in January.
Be on the lookout for the upcoming French breakdown that will tell you what scenes you are in and a schedule of rehearsals.
Have a great week off!
