Thank you to everyone who participated in making Sounds of the Season 2014 a resounding success. Our audience of almost 600 people spent a sparkling evening full of music and memories. The variety of entertainment in our concert drew high praise from the crowd. We had a fantastic time working with everyone, and we're already planning an even bigger event for next year!
Mr. T and Mrs. A We’re off to a great start this year! I’m enjoying getting to know our students in all five choirs, and we’re working hard on our fall music. Thank you to the Chamber Singers who gave up the last few days of summer vacation to rehearse for their performance at the Napa Valley Unified School District’s employee welcome breakfast. I’m also looking forward to our Parent/Guardian meeting at 7 p.m. on September 9. It’s a good chance to get acquainted and see what’s going on in our busy department.
Ticket sales have started! All sales are through our new online ordering system on ShowClix. Please click the link below to order.
Great news! Our online ticket sales will begin this Saturday, February 1st. A link to the ShowClix website will be provided on the home page and on the FotR page when tickets become available. Our cast rehearsal schedule has been posted to a password-protected page, please get the password from myself, Susie, or Mrs. Amendola.
Have a great weekend! We've been rehearsing every evening and Saturdays in the District Auditorium for two weeks now! Our blocking and choreography is almost complete; the students have been very cooperative and have great attitudes. The biggest production numbers have been blocked with the full chorus, and the costumes will be arriving in approximately two weeks. Another step closer to getting into character!
We're getting ready to block one of our funniest numbers: The Dream. I'm looking forward to seeing the chorus as singing ghosts in Tevye's comical dream! In about two weeks, we'll be starting our technical rehearsals, where we will add the lighting and mics, and sound effects. These technical rehearsals can be grueling, but if we all work harder now, the show will be that much more incredible! We had a great first week of class. I enjoyed meeting every student in all five of our choirs. Our talent level is extremely high, and I'm very excited for the upcoming year. Mrs. Amendola and I have been working very hard over the summer to prepare challenging music literacy programs and choral repertoire. We're looking forward to the coming weeks!
We would also like to welcome the newest member of the Music Department, our office manager Susie Cosper. She'll be your contact for everything related to Activities, Points, and any other administrative details. Stop by her office and say hi! Her office hours are Monday - Friday. 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and she can also be reached at [email protected] or at 707-299-2520 We would like to thank the many volunteers and contributors of the TRCNB who give so much of their time and funds to assist teachers in Napa County with school supplies. Our program was able to procure badly needed school supplies such as paper, pens, whiteboard markers, even tissues and hand sanitizer! The TRCNB contributes resources, free of charge, for any public school teacher in Napa County. We really appreciate their efforts. Please visit their website by clicking the picture above to learn more about this incredible resource for teachers. We enjoyed meeting many 8th graders and their families at the Vintage Curriculum Faire this past Wednesday night (March 13th). We will be in touch with you and are looking forward to you to become part of the choir family!
If you are looking for more information on the choral music department and/or wish to receive more information about joining the choir directly, please click below: Such a great turn-out at the choir parent/guardian information meeting last night!
Thank you so much to the family members of our choir students who were there. It was so nice to see new and returning faces and to talk with you about some of the most important aspects of our program. The choir room was not only packed full, but standing room only! As a music teacher in a California public school, having so many enthusiastic parents and guardians attend a meeting of this nature was exciting. Many people volunteered to help by signing up on our poster-sized sheets in the back of the room and the energy in the room was so positive and supportive. Thank you for giving up your evening to be there, parents and guardians.. here's to a great school year ahead! Mr. Teeters I'm looking forward to meeting all the new students in Choir! This is going to be an exciting year; we've got some incredible activities planned:
Mrs. Amendola and I are here to help you learn to sing or improve on your great voices, but we're also here to encourage you to compose, perform, read music, or plink on the piano. We invite all of your families to our Parent/Guardian Orientation Meeting on Thursday, September 6th at 7pm in the Choir room. We also invite you to attend our "Pasta to Paradise" Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, September 8th at 6:30pm to help defray costs for our Spring Trip to Hawai'i. Our students will be selling tickets for this event in the coming weeks. Ask any singer for information. Tickets are $20 for adults, and $10 for students and seniors. Can't wait to see you all! -Mr. T |
